JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director, Pricing will support and serve as the primary source of pricing analytics for the Generic Pharmaceutical Sourcing Team. This role requires strong financial analysis skills with proven ability to analyse, interpret, and report data along with strong negotiation and relationship building skills.
The successful candidate must have a proven track record of project, process, and relationship management; contract and administration management; and, be capable of independent problem solving and decision making.
This position will report to the VP, Pricing and Contract Compliance, manage two direct reports (Pricing Analysts) and work closely with the Sourcing and/or Operations and Analytics Teams in executing strategic sourcing initiatives. The objective of the strategy is to effectively reduce pharmaceutical acquisition costs, enhance buy side margin expansion opportunities, sustain and enhance leverage with suppliers and assure ClarusONE’s position as customer of choice with industry leaders via McKesson and Walmart.
This Pricing Team has primary responsibility for executing key aspects of generic pharma sourcing including but not limited to: implementing Supplier and Product driven price changes, identifying and reporting issues which might impact Pricing and Product Management decision processes, performing preliminary pricing and profitability analysis in support of supplier negotiations, supporting new product launch strategy, buy-side initiatives through utilisation of new and existing pricing platforms and drive strategic pricing initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities:

Develop strategic approach and methodology for identifying and implementing Supplier and Product driven price changes.

Develop and implement an end to end event based pricing model that provides actionable information to all impacted teams, ensuring successful utilisation of this information.

Develop approach for pricing and profitability analysis to support supplier negotiations.

Lead the development of new pricing platforms as required, or enhancing existing platforms.

Perform financial analysis of price and rebate changes, model pricing scenarios and recommend best-case scenarios to leadership.

Perform calculations to analyse spreads and determine profit margins to ensure product price and rebate validity.

Provide financial projections and estimates.

Capture and track price changes from various sources.

Review all price change requests received and perform research to resolve possible discrepancies with different teams prior to implementing contract price and rebate changes.

Approve and implement contract price and rebate changes accurately and timely into ClarusONE’s pricing system with required supporting documentation.

Implement/validate price structures for new product launch agreements, ensuring all are properly updated and communicated to Sourcing Analytics Management, Finance, and Sell Pricing teams.

Implement timely updates to supplier strategic rebate programs.

Coordinate follow up and supplier response tracking for all pending deals.

Maintain SOX compliant documentation to support Finance and Sourcing Team in supplier disputes.

Support all SOX related activities and audit – ensuring price change processes are compliant.

Recommend process changes to achieve minimal error rates. Track errors and improve process efficiencies.

Communicate to and influence other internal teams diplomatically to enforce deadlines.

Communicate tactfully with suppliers, keeping critical information confidential with minimal supervision.

Communicate with all relevant stakeholders and adhere to Delegation of Authority approvals.

Grasp the complexity of the pricing process, prioritise and raise issues to management whenever necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience
-
Degree in Business Finance, Marketing, Statistics or Economics;

8-10 years’ experience in Accounting and/or Finance/Business analysis within a formal business environment, experience in Product Pricing and Analysis preferred.

Experience in the healthcare field, preferably in generic pharmaceuticals (sales, purchasing or distribution) preferred, though not required.

Experience of managing a team preferred but not essential.

Knowledge/Skills

Exceptional organisational and project management skills are critical using a consultative approach.

Time management, including ability to organise and prioritise work to consistently meet critical and/or conflicting daily deadlines while ensuring the highest level of accuracy.

Proficient with MS Excel and MS Word. Able to create simple and improve moderately complex Excel templates. SQL and/or Alteryx knowledge a plus.
