Senior Director – Member Engagement

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Director Member Engagement role is a critical role within ClarusONE responsible for leading and developing the Member Engagement team. Responsible for overseeing the account management team’s day to day relationships with ClarusONE’s members and customers, as well as act as a key conduit with the sourcing teams. The role is responsible for establishing appropriate customer engagement frameworks, overseeing and leading the business review process, aligning on customer facing KPI’s and acting as the main voice of the customer within ClarusONE. The role will be responsible for leading an annual joint business planning session with each member and working cross functionally to deliver the implementation. The Senior Director Member Engagement will also be responsible for the customer planning, operations, and execution of sourcing events, including process review and optimization when needed.

 

Working cross-functionally the position will ensure initiatives are implemented and look to identify opportunities for ongoing development that meet the needs of our members and customers. The role will be responsible for managing the account planning cycle and activities to ensure the members needs and expectations are met and align to our internal priorities and business goals. They will also be a main point of contact to support with the strategic development of ClarusONE focused on developing sourcing solutions to meet our member needs as well as work with the VP Generic Sourcing to identify new sourcing services customers that could support the ClarusONE growth strategy. The position requires strong client management, negotiation, systems thinking, interpersonal and relationship management skills, as well as problem-solving and the ability to identify opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop and manage all member engagement activities for ClarusONE. Work in collaboration with our members and customers and the ClarusONE sourcing and bid management teams to develop, administer and socialize the sourcing strategies to meet their evolving needs. Manage the customer facing elements of the RFI, RFQ and RFP events and support the development of the strategy and planning for future sourcing events and initiatives that ultimately drive value for each member. Lead the team to analyze results from sourcing events including savings, yield and other key KPIs.

  • Establish customer engagement frameworks, manage day to day member needs, lead the quarterly business review processes, and establish business KPI reporting with ClaursONE’s members and customers. 

  • Day to day team management. Coach and develop a team of key account managers and data analysts.

  • Working proactively and cross functionally with each member and customer identify and develop new initiatives to support growth whilst meeting our members needs. Work in collaboration with the sourcing team to develop sourcing models to meet different channel needs – retail pharmacy, specialty, health systems and physician office.

  • Working in partnership with the sourcing and bid management team routinely identify and review opportunities to support process improvement, new ways of working and how to best leverage our supplier relationships to identify value creation for our members that maximizes value in addition to CoGs savings.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training:

  • Advanced degree in Business, Finance or Economics undergraduate degree with and an MBA preferred

Business Experience:

  • Minimum of 12+ years’ experience in sales, procurement, analytics and business development

  • Product sales and/or sourcing experience preferably in generic pharmaceuticals

  • Experience in healthcare and related pharmaceutical distribution experience, ideally with knowledge of the US healthcare systems

 

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proven ability to lead a team to achieve goals by focusing on results

  • Demonstrated consistent ability to develop strategic and tactical plans as well as creative problem-solving capabilities

  • Ability to communicate to Senior Management and develop relationships at all levels

  • Highly motivated self-starter: ability to initiate and manage projects with minimal supervision

  • Experience in healthcare and related pharmaceutical distribution experience

  • Proven success in business development related to commercialization of generic pharmaceuticals, pricing schemes and margin management of retail, health system proprietary programs

  • Strong working knowledge of budget and P&L statement

  • Keen knowledge/interest of the customer/supplier/manufacturing landscape especially the US Generics business

  • Proven experience and understanding of the supply chain process

  • Ability to understand, interpret and educate varying levels in the intricacies of product life cycles and patent litigation and deposition

  • Traditional office environment.

  • Located in London

  • 20 – 30% Travel
