DIRECTOR, SUPPLIER RELATIONS AND PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

JOB DESCRIPTION

The focus of the role is to drive the sourcing and management of the generics category of products to achieve every day market competitive cost and to ensure consistent supply.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of innovative sourcing strategies and programs

  • Develop and maintain relationships with US and internationally based suppliers

  • Leverage data and advanced analytics to identify market opportunities and supply risks

  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies for the sourcing of generic products

  • Support resolution of supplier operational issues and communicate impacts to member organisations

  • Execute the accurate and efficient resolution of product supply issues

  • Build diverse, high-performing teams that accomplish organisational changes, goals, and priorities

  • Listen to, leverage, and promote the diverse ideas, perspectives, and contributions of others across the business

  • Manage a team of 1 to 4 senior product managers and/or product managers

REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience

  • Bachelors degree; preference for Finance, Economics, Biology or similar

  • Preference for Masters in Business Administration (MBA)

  • Product sourcing experience in generic pharmaceuticals highly preferred

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in sourcing, finance/business analysis or product management

  • Formal training in negotiations and/or demonstrated experience

Knowledge/Skills

  • Knowledge of purchasing, sourcing and/or product management of product distributed within a multiple warehouse environment

  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and/or Access with a solid background in data extraction and manipulation techniques

  • Well organised, process and team-oriented with the ability to prioritise quickly

  • Excellent communication skills and able to work with all levels of management and internal/external customers to get results quickly – able to communicate decisions and recommendations to stakeholders in a high-pressure environment

  • Highly motivated self-starter; ability to initiate and manage work with sense of urgency

  • Ability to effectively deliver “bad news” and manage conflict to successful resolution

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results driven environment that is constantly changing

  • Ability to build and maintain long term relationships 

  • Willingness and ability to attend regular after-hours events and attend 3 – 5 international industry conferences per year
